Starts do not get much better than Team BOC's at Abu Dhabi today, with Jason Bright leaping from P21 on the grid to P16 by the end of lap one.
Lap two was as far as Bright's charge was to get, however, when Jonathon Webb ran into his left-rear corner. The contact spun Bright into the path of Karl Reindler, with the subsequent collision causing huge damage to the right-rear corner of the Team BOC car.
Webb, who was investigated for several incidents after yesterday's two races, was immediately given a drive-through penalty for the incident but Bright's day was ended.
V8 Supercars will be back in action at Winton Motor Raceway from 16-18th November.
Jason Bright Team BOC "We had a great first two laps. We had made some changes for that race and I thought it felt much stronger before the incident so it was disappointing not to see how that race would have panned out.
"Webb has been driving like a fool all weekend, taking short cuts against Fabian [Coulthard] yesterday and just showing total disrespect for what is a professional motorsport category. He should have had the book thrown at him then."
